it was amazing to see Dee Why and Long Reef in the picture. I was nipper president at DY SLSC from 2004 – 2006 and it brought back great memories. I’ve been living on the Sunshine Coast for nearly nine years and have only just taken up kiting. I’ve got myself a Sonic 12 metre kite and slingshot board . Great article. Apparent wind is one of the main topics I discuss too when teaching students how to kiteboard. Also works if you are flying your kite on the beach and the wind starts to die, you just run upwind and prevent the kite from crashing using the apparent wind.

I just got one of these – only thing that seems to be missing is a screen field for max speed? Be nice to have that during a session.

Any idea if it can be configured for that? I couldn’t find it.

Hi, can you see actual heights of individual sent jumps? For example, I think I am jumping 30 ft vertically in my head and 20 feet out, but in reality how high/far did it go? Would love to know if this can measure that.
